I am using windows xp and internet explorer and now am experiencing alerts stating "system intrusion detected" and when internet explorer is opened the page is (do not click) securitycaution.com with pop-ups, in the internet explorer tools menu the homepage is still the one I had set (google) and after running AVG, ad-aware, spybot search and destroy, I have also gone through the programs menu and removed the toolbars and associated programs but the problems persist

i have included the hijackthis log and hope you can help me to solve this problem, i have also already gone through the HJT log posting "please read" and gone through all of the steps to the best of my ablities

    thanks,
    rstywb

While I know that malware issues are anoying and frustrating, you really do need to follow the guides....

    Please follow the steps below:

    - Run ALL the steps in this Sticky thread READ & RUN ME FIRST Before Asking for Support

Make sure you check version numbers and get all updates.

    - Very Important: Make sure you tell us the results from running the tutorial...was anything found? Were you unable to complete any of the scans?...Were you unable to download any of the tools?...Did you do the on-line scans as suggested? etc.

After doing ALL of the above you still have a problem make sure you have booted to normal mode and run the steps in the below link to properly use HijackThis:

    Downloading, Installing, and Running HijackThis

Please attach the logs as per the guide and a Malware specialist will be along to help...cheers :)

    Thank you for the reply,
-i have gone through all of the special removal procedures, it doesnt match all of the problems at hand
-however the tutorial did help with the homepage redirect, its normal so i have my homepage back
-there is still the alert from an icon in the taskbar stating "system intrusion detected" and continuing with a paragraph about a dangerous infection and....loss of data and click-here to protect your computer from malware threats
-even though it has been uninstalled multiple times "spywarestrike 2.5" loads itself each time the computer is rebooted
-i uninstalled all antivirus programs except AVG which is updated, ran the scan multiple times
-i ran ad-aware (current on updates) it detected nothing
-spybot - search and destroy (current on updates) noted a problem w/ "Windows.ActiveDesktop" which i fixed
-after running hijackthis in normal mode i went through the list according to HJT tutorial, fixed the apparent problems, however the alert coming from the taskbar still remains even after rebooting the computer

what do you suggest i do next?

again i cant thank you enough for the assistance,
    rstywb
