Homepage Hijack

Hi, I think I have some type of spyware on my computer because my homepage is being reset. My browser will first display this address, "http://www.microsoft.com/isapi/redir.dll?prd=ie&pver=6&ar=msnhome" and then redirect me to www.msn.com. Msn is the default page, but, I can't change it to anything else. After I change the homepage and apply the settings it goes right back. I was wondering if I could post a HJThis log.

FYI: I just put in a new HD onto my computer yesterday and hadn't had a chance to install anti-virus and anti-spyware programs. After running an Ad-aware and spybot scan just now, they came up with "Alexa;" which I subsequently removed.

Appreciate the help.

Hi

As you have Spybot installed it does have settings to lock your homepage to the last default one, IIRC goto the Immunize setting and untick lock homepage, then try changing the homepage.

Hi, thanks for the reply. I looked and can't seem to find the option to lock the homepage. I was in the default mode, but switched to the advanced and couldn't find it there, either. I'm running version 1.4, does this version have that option? Am I just not seeing it? Thanks

but also stop/disable Spybot and see if you can change your homepage with Spybot turned off, just in case its something else blocking you from changing the homepage.
