Honda Commercial

I think this may have been posted before but worth viewing again.

Did you know that this commercial took 606 takes for everything to work correctly. They didn't want to use any kind of computer animation so they kept trying until it worked.

Thanks for the link. I had lost it, and was just thinking about it the other day. I like the part where the fan starts up and unplugs itself as it scoots across the floor.

 

According to the "Urban Legends" site, the commercial is real.

they weighted the tires with bags of bolts, also from the car, which caused them to roll up. It's not a fake.

 

Yeh they used weights placed at the top of the inside of the tires,notice when the tyres roll and the weight gets to the bottom,the wheel stops rotating I wouldnt even call it cheating.

For me its gotta be the walking windscreen wipers how did they even think of that?also an awsome touch is when the nuts slide down the slope,the oil poors and slows down the nuts,if they hadnt they would have slid toward the middle of the balance beem and not tipped it.

 

I can confirm it was all real because my dad is involved in holding the accounts for the advertising side of Honda UK and he has a little booklet about the adverts and how they made everything possible.

 

I read a long story about it in an advertising magazine. It was all real, it did take a lot of takes, they did have to use some "tricks" like the weights in the tires to make them roll uphill, but none of it was faked via CGI or anything like that. The only thing they admitted to in the article was that the clip is actually 2 seperate clips, a 1st half and a 2nd half joined together. I forget where they joined the clips, but I don't care. It was a genious piece of work and a joy to watch. My kids are fascinated by it (I saved the clip to the computer so they can watch it at will).
