    I have a
Kyocera Rise, Android 4.0 with public mobile. I used to have a samsung captivate which I had VPN hooked up to it so I could receive emails from work. When I switch carriers (public mobile) I had to buy the phone but for some reason I can not hook up VPN ( virtual private network). I have ask public mobile by email they keep responding "We cannot stop automated reminders your bill is due" Which I want to reach through the phone and strangle them! Obviously they can not read, so chances of them knowing what I am talking about is slim!
Then I asked the IT dept. at work they do not understand what I want! They set the system up, hard to find good help! So its up to you tech genius's, I have faith!! Always came through before!

I do not fully understand what you are asking.

Sounds like you are trying to set up VPN connection to your work on your mobile device.

I would try and download the app CISCO Open Connect for your mobile device and then try to connect to your companies VPN router.

Thanks for the reply, I am trying to do exactly what your saying. I have already tried that app along with other apps. Actually to many to list. The It guy at work (sub contractor) told me I could copy the short cut on my computer onto the phone, he did not realize that it is secured and cannot be copied, email etc. I was actually thinking. if I could figure out where the file is on my samsung, I could copy that onto my phone, see how that works. I do not know where to find the file though? Even if I find a free app that works I would be willing to upgrade the app. Thanks for looking at the thread and knowing what vpn is lol.

When you tried Open Connect what problems were you getting?
Can you find out what kind of device is the VPN endpoint at your work location? Is it a Windows server or a dedicated VPN appliance? What kind and what model.

BTW...many many folks on this forum know VPN .. :)

I had no doubt several people here would know about VPN, that is why I came here :) . So I got openvpnconnect app, tried to connect and got Error in Configuration No user certificate selected.

Sorry I forgot I am not sure but I think it is a IBM server. Also about how the app works, I notice it only wants the server location, it does not want your log in name or password? Does that mean it is only getting me to the log in page of the server? If it does that I would be happy lol.

The app only asks for the server location either IP address or domain name and when the app connects to the server some negotiation takes place and you will then be presented with a login page.

Once you get that, you are almost there.

Select AUTOMATIC for the certificate, but if that doesn't work try DISABLED.
