Hot Bar

how do I get rid of hot bar? I have tried all I know on deleting this thing but I cant seem to kill it!!! how do I make it go away?

Hotbar, among many other annoying programs, is Adware implanted on your computer. they make it really hard to get rid of for a reason... to annoy you and make money..

run ad-aware and Spybot Search & Destroy

once every few weeks and your system should stay pretty clean of that junk... god luck

 

They add keys in your registry to do these type of things... I'm not sure off the top of my head where it might be... but I'd say under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Explorer or somewhere around in there... it depends whether the hot bar you're refering to is on Internet Explorer or if it's been embedded into your desktop. But, grant you... it's in the registry somewhere.

 

I ran AdAware and it found a TON of hotbar crap. Hotbar is a terrible program.

Where in the heck did you guys GET a parasite that puts that much stuff on your machine without you knowing that it's happening?

If you can post a warning to us all, we can AVOID that/those place/places and that sware completely.

@Wiz- it was in a program called Hotbar and it seemed cool at the time. It lets you put different animations and effects on email.....

 

...and put pictures on your explorer and IE toolbars.
