I had the career services rep at ITT help me out with my resume about 2 weeks ago. I updated all my job sites with it and I got 2 calls today alone. Have to call them back to see what the gig is. Never thought a little resume refresh like that would produce possibilities so quickly.

    Wish me luck!

Having a professional help with your resume can make a big difference, there is a certain skill in writing them and it's an outside perspective.

I have seen quite a few resume's of very intelligent, well educated people with tons of experience, education, training, and their resume looks like crap.

Good luck. :) and with the money thing also. ;)

Crapola'd.. They were both contract jobs.. 4-6 months. Wish I could do those but I have to have health insurance and I can't afford it on my own especially if I don't have anything lined up after the contract is over. 6 months goes fast.

Kodo out here in the West Coast it is the same BS, most companies will only hire you for either a contract or contract-to-perm position. As much as I prefer a full-time no contract position, more and more firms are prefering to scan their candidates in that way...either way good luck, I am in the market for a new job too! ;)

Kodo, what is your approach to finding a job? Is it to submit your CV to a number of job hunting websites and waiting for a response, i.e., a passive approach? or are you actively contacting firms to determine there vacancies?

This web site may help you: http://www.asktheheadhunter.com/ - it is a little too gung ho for my tastes, but it has a forum as well.

The company that employs me appears to have numerous vacancies in the New York state in at least five different locations. Maybe there is something there: http://careers.csc.com/careersource...w&Start=13.17&Count=30&Expand=13.26.5#13.26.5

    Anyway best of luck.

CV revampage. I've redone mine about 7 times... nobody even looked at them yet. It's probably got somthing to do with the fact I'm a full time student still. Blah. I can make money by myself.... its just a LOT of work...and very inconsistant. Like, I'm in the middle of a beeeg job right now, which I won't be coming out the other side of for a good few months yet. If I work out my wages for this job, they are well below minimum wage

My girl friend posted her resume, about ten years ago, on I think monster….with in three or four days she was getting calls…….we’re in California, the most of the call, were from out of the state, and we didn’t want to move away…….

A word about you resume, if you don’t want contract jobs, take it out of your resume..for now, to see how it goes……a resume, and a cover letter as part of a package, on the internet, gives them easy access………..wobbles
