How can i find out what ports somthing is using ?

    I have a CCTV DVR which i want to view remotly, at the moment i can view it on the LAN, but i do not know what ports i need to open so i can view it remote, anyone any ideas ? or is there a program that will be able to tell me?

    Do you have a make/model for the DVR? I am trying to determine if the device itself is network capable, or whether it requires a software application to run.

    If it is software-based, windows inbuilt tools will give you the port, but if it is hardware-based, we will need to research what port it is configured to use by default. (Assuming it hasn't been changed)
