How can I make myself "clever" on my router?

    I am trying to make myself "connectable" on a private tracker site but when I try port forwarding (following information from a well known port forwarding site :D) I am still showing as not connectable. I have done all the right things except the static IP address bit as I do not have one. Is the static IP address needed?

    Check your local firewall settings. Also if you plan to use port forwarding often you should use a static ip address so you wouldn't have to reconfigure when your computer gets a different address
