How did i do it last time??!!!

OK I created a backup of a disc to my hard drive and created it as a .iso file, but I've come to do it again and can't remember what software I used??!!! It was either ISO Buster or Nero6, can someone point me in the direction of how to do this, please!!!!

 

Just about any burning program supports ISO's.

CD images are operating system independent and use the ISO format, which is why you can use discs created on one operating system on another.

An ISO is just a CD image, so just start your program of choice, for example, in Nero 6,

*Start Nero. (Cancel the "new compilation" wizard if it starts)

*Choose Recorder / Burn image

*Browse to the location of the ISO and select the intended file.

*Check the option "Finalise CD" (No further writing possible!)

*Click on "Burn" now.

That's all there is to it.

Other programs all use a similar procedure.

 

nooo nooo, I have copied files from a cd to my hard drive and I want to save them all as one .iso file on my hard drive!!! I've done this before but can't remember how I did it! I want to create an iso file!!!

If you have Nero 6, you can use Nero Backup, but it uses it's own proprietry .nbi format.

I don't know why you want an ISO, but Ultra ISO or Magic ISO should be able to convert any format to ISO, listed under the tools menu.

 

Nero has a feature to do what you want. Just open Nero Burning Rom and click on the option to create an ISO. Specify the files that you want included and make the ISO.

 

If you're using a virtual CD drive, you generally require the information to be in ISO format for whatever game/app you're running.

The post however says nothing about emulation.

It's vague to say the least and can be interpreted in many ways.

 

It would be useful to use the image as emulation, in case I did lose the cd so ISO format is prefered. I tried Magic ISO and it worked great, thanks very much for that info!
