How do get connected to my wireless network after hard drive wipe

Well, my laptop just experienced a hard drive failure and LCD screen replacement do it had had quite the makeover.

First question. It is not picking up my wireless network that is set up in the house. What do I need to do, install change ect. to get this working. I am running a Dell Vostro 3700 with Windows 7.

Hi runfromabear.

First thing to do is to verify your wireless is actually on. Can you see other wireless signals?
Also, check in Device Manager and see if there are any indications of problems with the wireless adapter - ? or ! by the adapter. If there are, you can try downloading the drivers with another comp from Dell Support, transfer to your laptop and reinstall.
Can you connect with an ethernet cable to verify your TCP/IP properties are working?
If the ethernet connection works, can you make sure you are fully up to date on Win7 patches and updates.
If you boot into Safe Mode with Networking, (press F8 at boot up), is there any difference?

Go from there and let us know the results.

 

Got it working. The people who reloaded the drivers on the computer missed reloading my wireless card driver. Thanks for the help!
