How Do I Check The Smart Status Of A Solid State Hybrid Drive?

I recently scored a used laptop thin Solid State Hybrid Drive. I wiped it and removed all previous partitions and data. Now I'm using it as a backup drive in a usb enclosure. However whenever I download Seagate Seatools which is supposed to show the smart status of the drive, it doesn't. The drive doesn't even come up in the Seagate Seatools software. I've tried using command prompt to summon the smart status, Disk Management in Windows 8 says the new partition is healthy, but that's not enough information for me. I really need to check the smart status before I entrust backing up files to this. It's not a regular drive since it is both Solid State and a Normal Hard Drive mixed into one as a Hybrid. I'm wondering if that's causing any compatibility problems.

Does anyone know how I can check the Smart Status of this drive?
