How Do I Fix This?

I have the following on my computer:
DVD Rom Drive (Drive D)
DVD RW (Drive E)

I also have the following icon, "Removable Disc Drive F", which appears when I open "My Computer", how do I permanently get rid of, delete this icon? Thank you very much for your help.

 

you sure you dont have something else hooked up in your computer like a floppy or cdrom or zip drive or somehing? because if it shows up in My Computer then there is somethin hooked up to make it show.

 

Thank you for the reply. I do have a floppy, drive A. Funny thing, since I posted this problem the drive f, removable disc icon has now disappeared. Any idea what's going on? Thanks again.

 

my guess is you have something hooked up like a cdrom or cdrw or a zip drive. is that all you have is the dvdrom and dvdrw and your floppy?

 

Yes, all I have is 3 things, DVD Rom (Drive D), DVDRW (Drive E), and Floppy )Drive A).

 

then im not sure what i goin on. i thought that stuff only appeared in My computer when you have stuff hooked up like all your cd drives and harddrives and stuff. sry i cant help you.

 

Do you have a digital camera, an MP3 player, or a similiar device that uses a memory card or mini HD to store data that you plug into your computer on occasion? My iPod shows up as drive H: and my camera is showing up now as drive D:. When you remove the device, the drive icon will disappear. Windows will usually assign a drive letter to any external memory device attached to the computer and it will be displayed if you can access it like a HD.

 

If you only have one hard drive is it possible that you have two patitions on it?

 

yeah, but he said it went away for a while. if it was a partition from a hard drive, then it woudn't go away. i know because my hp computer has two partitions on it. one is for using and the other is for recovery(at least thats what it's called).
