I'm on Windows 8.1, the Minimize to System Tray option is checked, and yet when I click Customize to get into the Notification Area Icons control panel, I can't find CCleaner.

Rebuilt the icon cache, restarted, opened CCleaner to make sure Minimize to System Tray was still checked, closed CCleaner, and this time it worked, but my Notification Area is ****ed up.

    Hi

If you are using the modified Start Menu you mentioned in your post HERE then possible that this has affected your system tray, but you can reset the system tray by deleting all settings and reset to nothing then they will re-populate over time again.

    The below will reset...

Not worth if you dont know the effects on a operating system to mess with GUI hacks and other tweaks, you seem to have many issues with your Windows version even my 75yr old mum doesn't have, reading your past weeks posts.

Find CCleaner in your Programs listing (Start menu) 'Right' click on its icon and select "Pin to Task Bar". Done. This might not be what you are after but its effective.
