How do I kill a file that even Killbox can't touch?

I modified a .txt file within a .zip file and now I cannot delete the .zip file.

I can open and read the .txt file using Notepad. The modification was successful and the new text appears correctly; but the files within the .zip file, and the .zip file, cannot be deleted now.

I tried Killbox and that failed.

I use ZipGenius (ZG) for all of my .zip files.

Windows Explorer says that the .zip file is 219KB.

The .txt file within the .zip file says that the file is over 4GB (4,294,967,295).

That would be one pretty hefty .txt file

I have tried to repair the file with ZG and that fails. It reports that the file is corrupt. (Well, Duh!)

When I try to do a simple delete using Windows Explorer it reports that the file is in use by another person or program. I have tried shutting down everything I can through File Manager to the point that at one point I bombed the computer.

I tried going in through the CMD window and deleting the file and got the same message.

I tried going in in Safe Mode to no avail.

The .txt file was created from a file from One Click at http://www.uvnc.com so I could use the utility to create the .exe file for remote access. That worked fine until I modified the .txt file within the .zip file from which the .exe file is created.

Is there any way to kill this thing?

forgot you could also try this

If all else fails BOOT from your SYSTEM WINDOWS DISK and use command prompt to navigate to the dir and delete the file
example: say the file is on your desk top the in command prompt type
cd c:\users\your user name\desktop "this takes you to the desktop"
then type dir "brings up all files in the directory"
then type del filename.xxx "file name is what ever its name is and .xxx is the 3 letter extension it has"
now type dir again to see if its gone

Yup... boot to the Recovery Console and delete the file manually.

    PERFECTAMUNDO!!!!!

    Thanks, guys.

This is why I always recommend to everyone that they come here first for answers.

Unlocker worked perfectly. It seems that the file was being held open by nine copys of Windows Explorer. How it did that I have no idea; but the program was looping the file from the boot.

    Thanks again, guys.
