I performed the entire XP Cleaning Procedure, and out of curiousity several hours alter I scanned the computer again with Anti-Malware and it found a whole bunch of infections. I did the XP Clean procedure again this morning.
How do I know if the PC is completely clean?

I have been busy trying to obtain all the necessary precautionary software as prescribed here so I am not quite complete with that.

    Thanks.

    Logs attached

I apologize, my intention was not to bump.
However, I have been reading the forum all moring and it occcured to me that I can not receive help without my logs. I sincerely apologize for not attaching them initially. I understand this reply will place me back in the queue.
    Thank you very much.

P.S. I am unable to upload ComboFix log as I am getting a message that it is too large.

    Re: Logs attached

As instructed in our cleaning procedure, you should not be running the procedure more than once. You should run it and immediately attach the logs if still having problems.

This means that you have run ComboFix in the past and have never uninstalled it afterwards like our final instructions always request.

I will give you a first cut at a fix and we will use ComboFix again. This should cause a newer and smaller log to be created.

Does your PC Tools Firewall Plus program have both a firewall and an antivirus? I don't believe it does and that would mean you are running with no antivirus protection and it appears that you only just installed PC Tools Firewall Plus on May 3rd which was probably after you were already infected. Why have you been running this PC with no protection?

I strongly advise you to immediately cleanup your Desktop. Remove eveything but links to run programs. Do not download and save programs here and defintely do not use it for long term storage. You need to keep ComboFix.exe here for now as we need it, but we will be removing it when we are finished with your cleanup. A cluttered Desktop is malware's playground and it can also cause performance degradation especially when you start saving large files here like you are doing.

    Uninstall the below software:
Viewpoint Manager (Remove Only) <-- should have been uninstalled in step 1 of the READ ME
Viewpoint Media Player <-- should have been uninstalled in step 1 of the READ ME

Now we need to use ComboFix to remove a bunch of malware files.
    • Make sure that combofix.exe that you downloaded while doing the READ & RUN ME is on your Desktop but Do not run it!
      • If it is not on your Desktop, the below will not work.
    • Also make sure you have shut down all protection software (antivirus, antispyware...etc) or they may get in the way of allowing ComboFix to run properly.
    • If ComboFix tells you it needs to update to a new version, make sure you allow it to update.
    • Open Notepad and copy/paste the text in the below quote box into it:
    • Save the above as CFscript.txt and make sure you save it to the same location (should be on your Desktop) as ComboFix.exe
    • At this point, you MUST EXIT ALL BROWSERS NOW before continuing!
    • You should have both the ComboFix.exe and CFScript.txt icons on your Desktop.
    • Now use your mouse to drag CFscript.txt on top of ComboFix.exe
    • Follow the prompts.
    • When it finishes, a log will be produced named c:\combofix.txt
    • I will ask for this log below
    Note:

Do not mouseclick combofix's window while it is running. That may cause it to stall.

Now run Ccleaner. Only use the Run Cleaner button. Do not run anything else on any other forms.

Now run the C:\MGtools\GetLogs.bat file by double clicking on it (Note: if using Vista, don't double click, use right click and select Run As Administrator).

    Then attach the below logs:
    • C:\ComboFix.txt
    • C:\MGlogs.zip
Make sure you tell me how things are working now!

Chaslang, my computer became inoperable while I was waiting your instructions.
I obviously had been riddled with a virus that kept replicating itself.
I have read thru your post carefully above hoping I could glean some wisdom in running my PC (Fresh Install of OS). I have read the guides to keeping your PC safe and must admit I am quite confused about the correct route to security.
I really appreciate your time and expertise and apologize for any ignorance on my part.

What is it that you are confused about? Ask specific questions and perhaps we can clarify things for you.;)
