How do I shut off the annoying auto-click in Windows 7?

I have asked everyone I know and no one can answer this question. My laptop, an ASUS (all my computers are or use ASUS MotherBoards) Intel I7, 8 gig ram, Nvidea Geforce GTX 2gig and Windows 7) has the annoying habit of activating anything I hover over for more than one second.

This is driving me crazy. I have hunted for any way to deactivate this. No luck, and no one can tell me how.

Please believe me that I NEVER ask for help at a message board or help line until I have tried every other avenue. I have had this laptop for months, and love it. But I am at my wits end.

Open Control Panel / Ease of Access Center / Make the mouse easier to use.

Remove the check mark from the "Activate a window by hovering over it with the mouse'' option. Apply/OK.

    Hope this helps.

Wow, yes, it helped a lot! Thank you, Puppy Wunder!

Odd thing is, the check box was not marked. But I marked it then unmarked it, and hit apply, and that solved the problem.

    Thank you so much!
