On tuesdays when windows corrects Vista's latest problems I always find that my topdog driver that connects me to the internet on my gateway laptop goes down.

How do I sop that from happening?:cry

    Hi Frank

Is this happening at each Patch Tuesday's round of updates?

While their could be the odd windows update that could corrupt a driver or other 3rd party peice of software it's very rare to happen everythmw, so I would be looking for another cause, mainly duecto the fact that each round of updates are generally to fix/update a component of the OS.

Possible routes to try and fix this are check to see if an updated "topdog" driver is available, check your software firewall is not the cause. Are you rebooting after the updated are installed?

Are you logged in as admin on this PC?
What error messages do you get when trying to connect to the net after the updates?
    What is your browser used?
Do any other applications that use an Internet connection still work, say MSN Live Messenger or Outlook (email app of your choice)?

While Vista "could" be the cause from your brief explanation and personally not had feedback from others on this happening at every update, it's likely to be another culprit and may likely still happen if you where using XP
