How do I synch album info in WMP and Explorer

I am ripping CD’s to create a file for a yet to be purchased IPOD for the car (not sure what size yet).
When Windows Media Player downloads the wrong album info I am able to change it, and do.
However when I correct it in Windows Media Player the changes are not reflected in Windows Explorer and have the same problem visa versa (i.e. I edit in Explorer and this is not reflected in WMP)

Is it possible to have the changes reflected in both?

When complete, I was planning on transferring files from Explorer to the IPOD – is that how it's done?
If not, how do I only transfer a subset to the IPOD as my WMP library has lots more albums in it than I want to put on the IPOD.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
You need to download Itunes to put songs on your Ipod....

download and install then migrate your WMP Library to the Itunes player, plug your Ipod in,then select "all" or choose as to what you want put on it.
you can not directly put songs from the wmplayer onto the ipod as it is in the wrong format and you have to use the itunes player to sync your library to the ipod.

Thanks. I have loaded Itunes and it seems to have picked everything up, but the track names etc still don't match up with those in Windows Explorer, is it possible to have this done automatically?

Most of my music is on a NAS server accessed by Slimserver squeezebox, so this uses the titles on the NAS drive, and I am currently having to rename in both Itunes or WMP and then in Explorer so that both systems pick up the right information.

    Hi,
In Itunes if you right click on the Album or Song it will give you the option to get Album and track info.

    Thanks again.

Sorry, I should have been a bit clearer. I know how to find album info/download online, but it doesn't always find the right one, and after going through a few pages of them I tend to give up and think the info isn't out there, so it is in these cases that I have to rename both, and believe it or not I seem to have a lot of the lesser know or older CD's, so it is getting to be hard work having to rename it for the NAS also. I am guessing there is no way to update both Explorer and Itunes/WMP by editing only one..

If there is a way to do it I would love to know how.

I totally sympathise with you, but , other than what you are doing at the moment i can honestly say i haven't heard of any other way, maybe if you are on a social network site folk on there might have the relevent info for the albums/songs that need up-dating.

    Good Luck
