i was building a new computer and i was told that to install ram correctly you should only have one ram stick in and then install the operating system on in the computer then add the other 6 gigs, also i have heard that you have to mess with the BIOS to have the ram do something, (im not sure what). do you guys know what is going on here? i will be installing 8 gigs of 1x2000MB sticks of DDR3 ram.:major

    Hello,

When you build the computer, install all the RAM at once. Whoever told you to install just one stick is wrong.

To continue helping you, we could use some more information. For starters, what is the make and model of the motherboard?

    Thanks,

the mother board is a Intel DP45SG Motherboard that accepts DDR3 ram with a Intel Core 2 Quad Q6700 Processor, and i w told about going to the bios to make sure your MB (motherboard's)FSB is (Front Bus Speed) is 1333MHZ. like the rams speed
