    :-D Complain, complain

Relatively good speeds for a relatively far server, Fred!

This app must be designed to use as much bandwidth as available, though. Sure you're not being throttled? LOL There is an app that will count tcp reset packets sent to you, wish I could find the link...

Seemingly everyone looks to Comcast for traffic shaping precedent. :(

No new Modem will help me its because all the under ground phone lines here have tree roots growing through them causing line noise. but thank god Comsouth is getting with the program and laying FIOS So soon i don't know how soon i will be able to get DSL i would kill for atless 1mb or even just 512 DSL

The highest i get right now is 28.8Kbps or 26.4Kbps with download speeds of 1 - 3Kbps

I don't know how this happen on my dialup but it made me laugh i wonder how it happen.

Well, that's news to me. Though still not here yet, kinda peeves me off that my provider would be the bad guy. I guess Quebecor is putting the screws on after the Rogers takeover was canceled.

Actual use is VERY slow sometimes. Like 3 mins to open a text email... Or load different sites. Got a bunch of Cat5 I need to check.

If you're interested Augie, I hope to have an open letter to the CRTC made up by end of day tomorrow. They've got the floor open currently for public input in the Bell vs. CAIP filing until June 12th.

It's not Videotron per se, but hoping to set a precedent against the Big Guys.

If you like, I can PM a copy to you when done. Or you can contact them yourself citing decision number 2008-39

All the links are over 1,500 kilometres by road (roughly 1,000 miles by road) away. :cry
My contract runs out next month so I will be doing some investigation on progress within the last 12 months (to a nearer ISP hopefully).

At least they are consistent, no matter the distance involved. Bazza

Dang! Nice fix Fred! It scares me to think how much my users performance is degraded due to poor physical connections.

Think almost every cable I've seen here was crimped with the sheathing WAY outside the terminator. I've slowly been redoing the building. Still suffer about 3% packet loss to the far side of the building. Doesn't seem like much, but the small loss of data can obviously have a huge impact on the users time.

    *sigh*

At a glance, the server in London shows a closer physical distance from you?

Still liking the 3G dongle Phillip, seeing as you have had this for a while now? starting to see many of the major mobile players starting to off these now as with speeds like yours then its a serious contender for folk who may not be able to get landline DSL.

Yes, I am also using it for my Internet connection at home. The only downside of the current mobile offers are the limited (10GB) traffic volume, while DSL/cable come usual with unlimited traffic.

I wish T-Mobile would finally release the HSUPA firmware upgrade for my Huawei E270 modem. Their network is already HSUPA capable but the modem needs a new firmware for HSUPA support rolleyes
