Thought I would share this, funny in a morbid sort of way.
I am/was Baptized Catholic, although never went through all the hoops, and stopped going to church once I learned there were fun things connected to holidays besides genuflecting.
But my Rosary Beads is how I pray. It also works (for me) as a mantra so I can think and wish for what it is I want, such as health and recovery of not only loved ones but those I never met like here I feel a bond with.

When my mother passed away in 2004, while at the funeral home I noticed a sign that was announcing a Rosary the next day for a friend and ex neighbor, our kids were close.
My daughters wanted to be there to see the girls and pay respects, they hadn't' seen for years.
I kept repeating I wanted to be gone by the time the service started. It kept filling up with people, I kept saying wrap it up so we can go.
Well we got trapped in a pew, they closed the doors, I gave my girls looks that could kill. "What" ? was all they had to say.
So the service started I dug out my beads, muttering s.o.b real low, then it began. Bead by bead what takes forever. But I went through thinking it was for both my friend and my mother.
My youngest daughter said after she felt foolish sitting there not knowing what to do or say. Lucky her rolleyes I sent copies of the prayers to make sure she is able to join in next time.
Oh, just had a thought. Think I'll tell them my last wish is for them to say a rosary for me LOL

Interesting story Darlene. I have been to a couple of Catholic services, and had no clue what to do... :confused

My grandmother took me to church about every day but not to a service just to sit quietly and light a candle.
The Mass was confusing I think even for her. For one it was in Latin and how they knew when to stand, kneel or sit still bewilders me.
