I went to OZZFEST last night and after waking up this morning, my ears are still buzzing. How long am I going to be half deaf? :D

*side note: The new 'Similar threads' box that opens up after you type in a title for a new post is by far the coolest feature I've ever seen!

I've been to a few concerts, but I've never been as close to the stage as I was last night. We saw the last four bands (Black Tide, Lordi, Static X, and Ozzy) so I had a good six hours of nothing but loud coming my way. lol I think my hearing is coming back though. I don't have that muffled sound anymore, but i still have a constant "eeeeeeeee" going through my head. :)

Awesome job on the recommendation! It forces people to search before posting a new topic with little to no work involved. VERY helpful!

I saw MotorHead in 1986 at The Concert Hall here in Toronto. It's a small concrete building that holds about 4000 people. At the end of the show that was brutally loud, Lemmy and the guitar player banged their instruments on the stage floor a couple of times and leaned them against the Marshall stacks and left the stage.

The result was ear piercing distorted feedback that went on for 20 - 30 minutes as we were filing out of the concert hall. I was close to deaf for about 2 days. :major

I guess I should say "Rock and roll!" but I just think A-holes,I hate stunts that disrespect instruments and arn't in the spirit of good music

They were pissed off because some punk rock kids came to the show and started spitting on them like they used to do with The Sex Pistols.

Nothing is worse than distorted feeback... :cry

My hearing is pretty much back to normal, thankfully. I was ok though most of the night until Zack Wylde got into a 15 minute solo that included the Star Spangled Banner... Him, plus the crowd, just made my ears crack. Damn that was a great show. :major

I saw a band called "Teenage Head" in a club when I was about 20. They were the loudest band I've ever heard. My ears rang for three days. Some permanent damage I'm sure. http://www.teenagehead.ca/

Took me about a day to get over ozzfest in 2004. It wasn't as bad as shooting a snapping turtle in our field with a .357 snub nose. Took like 3 days for ringing to go away!
