    1) on a laptop, how do you make games use nvidia card instead of intel hd?

i wasnt able to find a comprehensive source when googling around, but maybe you'd know of a helpful one one option seems to use the 'nvidia control panel' but nothing comes up when i search it on w10

    2) what makes a game use the nvidia card or intel hd?

    3) and what is the purpose of a laptop having both nvidia card and intel hd? is it a good or bad thing?

    w10

    Brand and model?
Did Win 10 come installed or was it upgraded to Win 10? If upgraded, what was the original OS?

    update

on 'nividai contorl pan' which shows at bottom right on restart of computer (why does it only show then?)

i picked option on 'global settings' to use 'nvidia' on '3d' but it says 'access denied by windows, what does that mean, why it do that?

on 'nvidia control panel' when setting global settings, it says 'access denied'

solution was something with the drivers in how it came installed

    uninstall, clean install done

since drivers are among the common problems i guess? i feel that all the ppl, that know bout computer stuff, and not just 1 or a few ppl, should've known this, to be able to help effectively

If you had posted the brand and exact model, I would have posted a link to the drivers.
You failed to do so and I suspect people are unwilling to search for a driver for every computer that has both Intel and nVidia.

Computers with dual graphics cards that are switchable are quite rare, therefore there are few of us with hands on experience of them. Notebooks esp. should stick with the OEM drivers from their own brand and specific to their own model.

It also seems to be an issue with the newer APUs and "external" graphics cards fighting for whos in control. But he figured it out he is smarter than us all I guess. Insulting people who volunteer their time to help you is a nice thing to do. I'd change my name before I ask another question, your current one is tarnished.
