How many mice?

Hi, is it possible to have more than one mouse connected to your computer? I have a cordless trackball that I'm used to and like but want to add a gaming mouse to my system. Can I have the option of using either one? thanks

 

Yes.
One of my laptops has a touchpad mouse that can't be disabled. I installed a USB/ wireless mouse and they both work simultaneously.

 

I keep an old serial port type ball mouse around just for emergencies. You can put it on even while the PC is running and can use it to get out of a jam if your PS2 mouse fails or gets pulled out accidentally. Since both the serial mouse and the PS2 mouse work at the same time I would assume the same would apply to a PS2 and Usb mouse but I have never tried it. I also have a little touch pad I found that also hooks up to the serial port and works along with the PS2 mouse, it allows me to control the cursor with my finger and has a left and right button along side its window.

 

I use to have to Keyboards, and 2 mice on my computer at work. I would use one to sit at the desk and type, and the other set when I turned and needed to draw something on AutoCAD. I could set the wireless set on the drawings I was using, and go to town. It was nice. I don't remember any problems with either.

 

I have a PS2 and a USB trackball both plugged in and they work fine at the same time. This is on XP Pro. It's nice to swich from a trackball to a regular mouse when your on the P.C. all day. My hands cramp at times.

no, you will only have one cursor but it will be controlled by either of the mice
