how much is too much?

Finding that my computer was running extremely slowly, I decided to go over some of the layers of protection my paranoia has made me download over time. I'm running Windows Defender, the McAffee suite that Comcast offers free, SPYBOT, SPYWARE Blaster, and at some point in time, I got Spyware Doctor too, not to mention Webroot w/ Antivirus. Even for me, this sounds like to much, especially since the Windows Firewall is up. I'm interested in simplifying my life by reducing all of this stuff to the reasonable minimum. What do folks suggest would work best?

    Thank you.

    No prob. :)

Definitely take a look at is as it looks like you do have too much going on. At the very least it will slow your computer down. The bigger problem is they can conflict with one another.

    General rule is :

    1 Firewall
    1 Antivirus
    1 Real time malware blocker

and then scanners for malware (you can have a few of these since they aren't running all the time)
