How To Activate OE Spelling Tab

Hi folks, I'm new here so have patience with me.

I'm looking to see if anyone can help me to activate my Outlook Express Spelling Tab. I'm running XP Home, have the CSAPI3T1.dll located in C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Proof as well as in Outlook Express, but I don't have any Spelling Tab...any suggestions???? Please? Also, I've tried this link (http://www.michaelstevenstech.com/spellcheck.htm) with no luck. If I uninstall Word and reinstall it, will I lose all of the files/folders that I have saved on it and if so, how do I save/back them up?
