I have 2 Windows 10 laptops in 2 different rooms. Each connects to the cable modem via WiFi. One connects to WiFi connection 'A' and the other to 'B'.

How to I enable network discovery so that each laptop can see the other laptop?
Do they both have to be on the same WiFi connection? That is, both on 'A' or 'B'?

Once each laptop can see the other laptop, how to allow each laptop to transfer files to the other laptop?

    Thank you.

They are a 2.4 & a 5 Ghz connection on the same cable modem. But I can run them both at 2.4 if that makes the process easier to implement.

Do you know the computers names? The quick way would be to open the run dialog, type \\remotecomputer'sname\c$
When the dialog box pops up use the username and password from the remote computer to log in, it should open Explorer at the root of the remote computer's drive.

Got it to work - thank you. Now two of us can share files while in different rooms. Works quite nicely.
    Thanks again!!
