    Hi all
Looked all over for the answer to this but no joy so hope you can help in this forum.

I recently bought the above portable drive and did some file back-ups and next tried to save a system image to the drive. The backup for system image failed to complete with Windows 10 error ' T7 Shield cannot be used for system image as not formatted with NTFS' additional information 'I/O device error.
    0x8070045D'

How to I convert the T7 to NTFS please?

Make sure you have all data you wish to keep off the USB external drive and stored elsewhere.

    Method 1:
    1. Open File Explorer and right click the plugged in USB drive.
    2. Select Format
    3. Select NTFS and be sure quick format is selected.

    Method 2:
    1. Right click this PC and select Disk Management.
    2. Right click the USB drive from the Volumes showing.
    3. Select Format.

    Method 3:
    1. Open a cmd prompt as an administrator
(In the run/enter box type cmd and press enter; when it opens, right click and select run as administrator)
    2. Type the following: format X:/FS:NTFS and press enter.
Replace X above with the drive letter of your external drive. Be very careful that you type the correct letter otherwise you will end up formatting a drive you did not want to format.

I never owned a drive that was formatted exFAT so I've never had to do any of the above.

Post back which method you used and how it worked so it helps someone else who might have the same issue.

Hi I haven't tried it yet but will get back to you if one of the methods work. I started transferring my earlier backups from my old portable drive to this new T7 shield. My docs, photos etch worked fine but when I tried to create a System Image back up to the new drive I got these error messages:-

1 T7 Shield Cannot be used for System Image as not formatted with NTFS
    2. 0x8070045D CHKDSK/R
