How to download around blocked file ext?

IT at work has blocked all downloading of files exe and zip ext. I need a way around this to download the free file turbonote. I need this program at work and in order to get it, I have to submit a request in writing, go up several levels of permission, and then wait a month for IT to come to my office and download it to my computer. Please help me get around this frustration. Turbonote is harmless and will help my work so much. Help! PS. I have Turbonote at home. Can I send it to my computer at work: I work off of XP at home and Windows 2000 NT at work. Thanks in advance.

 

Well, you could download the file at home, write it to a CD and bring it to work with you.

 

Assuming you're running an NT based system at work, do you have admin permissions on your work computer? If not, you likely won't be able to install it even if you bring it in on disk. And in some companies, installing unapproved software can be a firing offense. Pain in the butt or not, make sure what you can do before you do it.

 

Actually, after all the good advice, I have begun to realize that I'm not going to get anywhere unless, I request in writing, and go thru the proper channels. I thought it would be so simple just to get a post it note program. Anyway, I will have to wait a month and then there is no guarantee that I will get it. It's a shame. It would have cut my time in half. What is even sadder, is that I have to do this to be able to sync my Sony Clie with my outlook at work. Lord knows when that will ever happen. I'm not geeky enough to do it an not get in trouble. Thanks anyway for the answers.
