If you like fantasy or SF, Baen Books offers a lot of it's titles as free downloads.

[edit]Wups; just noticed you wanted audio. Baen's are good, but are e-books, not audio.[/edit]

"LibriVox volunteers record chapters of books in the public domain and release the audio files back onto the net (via podcast and catalog). Our goal is to make all public domain books available as free audio books. We are a totally volunteer, open source, free content, public domain project."

I've downloaded a few books from LibriVox...very well done. Some of the readers actually get into character, which is a nice touch.

One thing I've noticed with audiobooks is they are almost always broken up into smaller files. Here's a tip...use Firefox and get the DownloadThemAll! extension [https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/201/]. This will allow you to download all the audiofiles without clicking on the individually.
