You have to partition your harddrive and install a dual boot system so you can choose wich one to boot... and by the way that beta that your friend give you it's only work for 15 days....if you don't know ?!?.....

Best bet? Buy Partition Magic. Worth every penny. There is very little for free partitioning utilities out there. If you install Linux, typically it will partition for you, but I dont recall the latest build of Vista offering to do that. Future reference, dont mention what your trying to install if its not legal, we can easily help you without needing to know that. Were no saints, but theres not much point in admitting publicly that you obtained a copy of something you probably should not have from a legal standpoint, it makes it difficult for us to leave this thread up which means we cant help you :) P.S, not sure what your expetcing, but there is no driver support built in and not sure how well using Windows Update works, if you wanted to risk letting Microsoft know you installed Vista :)

Hmm, Vista has a 14 day activation limit. Also, you should have a modern, medium end rig to run it properly and depending on your hardware, you could have driver issues. Have fun!

BTW, Vista 5270 does not use the boot.ini file so you could run into problems there. I'd back up my stuff first if this isn't put on a test rig, which it doesn't seem like you do.
