How to keep peaches for later use?

Anybody know of a good way to keep peaches. MI peaches are my favorite fruit and now that I have my stash of peaches...looking for a way to keep them. Is my only choice bottling them and if so does anyone have easy directions to do so? I want to be able to make peach pie, cobbler and such with them later. Is this possible?

My Mother used to can Peaches and almost everything else that you could imagine.
The canned Peaches made some unbelievable Peach Cobblers when it turned cold. :drool

Thank you will have to hunt down the "Fruit Fresh" ingredient, a friend has the jars...looks pretty easy. Grandma use to do it too, but I never paid much attn.

We've had a monster peach crop this year - despite a pesky squirrel that has been eating 'em - and our approach is to de-skin 'em, slice 'em into bits, and stuff into a ziplock bag which then goes in the freezer. We then pull 'em out over the course of the year and then we are all set to make peach ice cream, cobbler, shakes, etc.

WOW you hit the peach motherload! Need a separate freezer just for them. I see your squirrel knows a good thing when he/she sees it, cute. Do you put in boiling water to skin or just peel them? Will try freezing some too.

 

You have to peel them, so you can remove the pits.

Last year, we did the "soak in boiling water" approach which does work quite well. However, those were huge and well-formed ... whereas so many of these have "damage" on 'em from the squirrel and/or falling on the rocks that we just hand peel'ed 'em this year.

Here's a picture of half of the tree ... some branches had already broken. I had pruned hundreds of peaches earlier in the season, but should have done more.

I have never been able to keep Michigan peaches around for more than a few days.
They're too good !!

 

This is a big problem, people are getting at my stash!!!! And why do we have tons of CA peaches when MI is right next door to us??? You need to grow more peaches in MI, this in unacceptable
