ok so I have 2 accounts teacher(administrator) and student (student limited user), i am wondering if there is a tutorial or something that can tell me how to further limit the student account. you know to keep them from installing games files, access regedit run etc.

    Hi ya firestorm...

    The "Guest" account should do.
This let's a user of said account do almost nothing.

Give it a try and see if it will meet your needs. :)

thankyou for the tip, but i am wanting to limit the user from doing things specifically. I heard of poledit.exe for windows nt and 2003 that works with gpedit.exe and wondering is it compatable with xp. if possible could some one

    I 2nd pww115's suggestion.

    start > control... > admin... > local sec... > right-click software... > create new... > right-click add... > new hash... > browse to a program to restrict > sec = restricted, ok

    Take this for example:

    C:\WINDOWS\NOTEPAD.EXE

After creating a restrict rule, start > run > notepad

Bang! Delete that rule & repeat for those that you don't want your student run.

thank you, but when i apply restriction to hash, and try to run program from admin. account it will not let me.I want for the admin. to beaable to access the programs but the student to not.

Even when I did this before my last post it would still not let admin access

Also, there is a program called Foolproof Control that is also a nice program. Isn't free though(I dont think), but has a free trail version.
