    Hello all,

Say, how do I make it so that I can burn Mp3s on a CD and then play them with a portable CD Player?

Most anytime I've gotten a CD that I can play audio files, they seem to be in some "track" format, so I'm not sure if I can just put Mp3s on a CD and play away.

    Thanks,

    Starkman

Which OS you have? which player you use? which burning software you use? Do you rip or download your music?;)

Oh, for the love of pete! I should know by now to give this kind of information!

Okay, first, I downloaded several public-domain Mp3s. They need to be converted and burned to a CD so I can play them on my portable CD player while I'm walking.

    OS: XP
Programs: CDBurner, WMP, VLC Media Player and ASV Audio Converter, which I haven't installed yet.

Well, I thought I figured this out using CDBurner, but when I inserted a regular ol' CD-R, it didn't want to use it (but it's burned to these before!). I mean, what up with that? It said it needed the appropriate type of CD in there.Whatever.

So I got another CD-R out...same thing. I even tried forcing the burn, which it seemed to do, only to later give an error in the burn process because of the CD-R.

I afraid I don't know what "ripping" is. I just need to get these Mp3 onto a CD and be able to play them.

    Thanks,

    Starkman

oh, THIS is lovely! I just tried playing the CD which CDBurner said didn't burn correctly...tried playing it with WinAmp (that just came up as the default player)...wouldn't work. AH, but I tried it in my portable player and viola!

So, I guess the burn did work but CDBurner doesn't know it!!!

Okay, so now I'm really lost!

    It is really easy.
    Download DVDVIDEOSOFT.
One of the applications is Burn to CD-it will burn the mp3s automatically.
You can also convert other music to be able to burn to cd.

You have to finalize the CD. Once you do this CD will play in almost anything however once CD is finalized you can not burn or delete or make any changes to it.

Well, I had used CDBurner and did finalize the CD. And, as I noted above, it played fine with Real Player, I think it was, wouldn't play with another program (Winamp or something like that) and plays fine, too, on my portable CD Player.

I did, however, download AVDAudio Converter and I'll download DVDVideoSoft as well.

    Thanks much,

    Starkman
