How to mount several .iso files into one?

    Hey,

I have downloaded Windows Vista through MSDN AA in 5 .iso files. I don't wish to burn them into 5 separate CD's, instead I wish to put them on one single DVD. I assume I have to mount these 5 .iso files together and burn that .iso to DVD. The big question is how can I mount these .iso files?

    Thanks for your help!

Not what the OP is looking for, I'm afraid. Daemon tools will let you mount an .ISO as a virtual optical drive, but it won't merge them into a single image.

TBH, I'm not entirely certain that this would work. The discs would be expecting you to insert OTHER discs throughout installation. (maybe another geek can trump this thought, though) Is there no single DVD image you can download? I know there were through the beta stages. I haven't downloaded an image from MSDN since, though, so it may have changed.

On a side note, who/what told you Daemon tools was illegal? Can you link?

I ask because Majorgeeks lists Alcohol which ALSO does drive virtualization.

Ahhh! I see now... no, downloading it from MSDN isn't illegal. MS offers free software to students, and technical professionals. Subscription is ~$4K last I checked, though.

    Hello,

I thought about installing with Daemon Tools but I figured not to try it because I probably have to reboot a couple of times during installation which isn't good. They do have a DVD image, but neither my friends or I have been able to download it. The download fails often, probably due to image's huge size and bandwidth issues. This is why I wanted to create one .iso out of those 5 I already got.
I don't know how much MSDN subscription costs for colleges or student organizations, but I put only 8€ to our students organization / year in order to get this :)

Regarding Daemon Tools: I presume it's not illegal to use it, but using it for malicious purposes probably is :p

Free download, I think limited , but around £15.99 to buy with full capacity - download,-plus £5.50 , if you want a disk.
But I have not tried it,- it does have capacity for Vista, it says.

I agree. Even if you could join 'em successfully, like Mada said, they probably wouldn't install correctly. I've used MagicISO (linked to above) and it is a GREAT iso-making/extracting/converting utility. You could probably use it to make one big ISO from all 5 of the smaller .iso files, but good luck getting the big ISO to run correctly....
