I have a new motherboard ASUS socketAMD that has nVidia raid support. I have installed VISTA on an old 40G hard drive and want to do the following:

    I have 2 newer hard drives - 320G and 200G
I want to image the 40G drive to the 320G.
I then want to raid the 2 newer drives together to have 1 drive of 520G.

    Any suggestions?
    Thanks

Easy- use Ghost or Acronis or a similar imaging tool to copy the 40gb to the 320gb. Install the 320gb on the 1st SATA channel, and the 200gb on the 2nd SATA channel. Upon booting w/ both drives hooked up, enter your RAID configuration utility (it's different for different mobo's; sometimes it's in the BIOS, sometimes it's after the BIOS but before Windows boots- you'll see the prompt). Set up your RAID for RAID 0 (striped RAID) and it should see both drives as one big 520gb drive. Your actual size will be closer 490gb or so due to parities and the way drives are set up.... good luck!

for the cloning i can recomend a prog from acronis - migrate easy, all you need is to install it and make several mouse clicks, and you will have the old drive cloned to a newer one. then just replace them and that's all. and also it has a full working 15 day trial version,
