How To Remove Dell Bloatware

So, I got a Dell G15. Nice little laptop, but I noticed it has almost 9Gig of RAM being used at idle. Idle being the computer on, no programs or windows open. I remember back in the Win XP days there was a sight on what do disable and such, don't recall the name. Suggestions on removing un needed stuff?

 

Not knowing your operating system, I am going to assume your running the latest windows 11. In the start menu right click on the program you do not need, and select uninstall. Also if you don't want to uninstall the apps, but just don't want them starting up, open task manger, ( control-shift-esc ), will open task manger, then select "start up apps" on the left, it looks like a gauge in a car, that will show a list of apps that auto start. Right click on any app you do not want starting, and select disable. App will still work, but just will not start at PC startup. Hope it helps. Good luck.

What bugs me, is that almost 10gigs of RAM is being used with only the Opera browser open. It seems to me that having around 1/3 of your RAM used at pretty much idle is a bit much. Perhaps this is normal, as I said, I have only really messed with this in Win XP, when you were pretty much capped at 3Gigs of RAM.

 

Yes, you have something eating up lots of ram. I have win11, taping radio playing, with firefox open, ram usage is a little over 4gigs. You should look around in task manager, and see what is using it.
