How to remove graphics settings from Profile?

guys I fought this issue in the past with Vista and cannot recall how to get it done... have a PC setup with onboard intel HD, windows 7, one user profile. the setup work was done on a typical monitor: 1366x768 hd.
moved it to the user location, plugged in to a RCA HDTV via the VGA cable.
Get no display because, apparently, the user profile is "stuck" with the original 1366x768 60hz graphics properties.

Safe mode works, but in safe mode I cannot really change the User profile data, can I? it ain't working... in safe mode the default is 1280x1024 but it shows the HDTV as 'generic'.

how do I remove all the graphics settings so I can set it up again from scratch without creating a new profile?

 

got it done. so simple, but i had forgotten.

first to your point: does not work. Safe Mode changes do not affect the pre-established Desktop mgmt values for "normal" boot. unfortunate...

which is probably why the right fix was put in place: "Enable Low Resolution" in the F8 menu selections. That works.
