Hi, I am running win xp sp2. And Explorer is an Microsoft IE.
My problem is with IE history.
Even though I delete IE History by going to tools--?Internet Options-->Delete history. I can still see some links present in my Internet Explorer History.

Can I know how to remove this History

    Thanks

You can right-click on each "3 Weeks", "2 Weeks", etc, and choose Delete.

Right click start / explore / scroll down to c:\docs. and settings \ "user name"\local settings \history
Also delete the temp internet files ...same place.

    Hi Tim,
I did that. But even then some links r staying in my history. I checked to search in IE history.
When I click on history in IE browser I will not be able to see this links. But when i Search in IE history I will be able to see this links. When i right click on these links and try to delete it wont get deleted.

    Thanks

I think at this point we all may not be talking about the same thing. What I suggested was, when you click on the History button at the top of IE, a history sidebar opens, showing links you have visited in folder-like groups, like "3 weeks ago", etc. Those "folders" can be deleted, and the next time you open your browser they will be re-initialized empty.

Could you perhaps be describing some sort of auto-complete history entries you wish to remove instead?

On the internet options / content / auto complete / clear forms....

then to check for all temps:
start / run /type "%temp%" without qoutes ...delete

    HI,
I deleted every thing in the 3 weeks .. so on until today.

Is there a different process to delete auto complete History entries?
In my IE I have auto complete for web adresses selected. But when I delete history, usually all the web addresses gets deleted except for some.

    Thanks for the help

click the history button in IE, locate the link sthat aren't gonne, right mouse click on them, and press delete. watch them all go away.

Also: C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Cookies delete everything except index.dat. CCleaner should do this for you though.

i recommend using firefox, as it has a clear private data button which can instantly remove any of the following: browsing history, saved form information, saved passwords, download history, cookies, cache, authenticated sessions and downTHEMall history. i have never had any problems or cases where files remain when after i have deleted them
