Since yesterday my second hard disk (rack) is unreadable: Seagate Barracuda 120GB/8MB, 1 hidden partition (empty), extendend partition with three FAT32 logical partitions, have been using it for archive and backup purposes for about 4 months. Both disks are on 1st IDE channel, and CD-ROM and CD-RW on 2nd. Only the first disk contains operating system, namely Win98SE (P4 2.6, Abit IS-7). Second disk cannot be read nor scanned, neither from Windows nor from DOS. There are no virus infections or registry problems. I tried the following programs: Windows' Scandisk, Scandisk under DOS, Fix Disk (Fix-it Utilities), PartitionMagic8, AVG, F-Prot,... It seems that each programs stops, when trying to read the File Allocation Table. The question is: is there a program that can actually repair corrupted FAT? (However, I'm afraid that disk developed bad sectors in which case they'll have to give me a new one).
