How To Save Patterns I Downloaded On Old Computer

My desktop is at least 8 years old. I have purchased craft pattern downloads and am wondering how to save them. When something to save photos on is plugged into my computer (desktop) nothing happens. I used to be able to do that, but it will no longer work.
Hate to think the amount I've paid for craft pattern downloads (Etsy) and not be able to transfer them when I purchase a new computer. I would rather there was a website where I could upload them. I use Google Photos, but it won't save the patterns I've downloaded. Is there another website that I could save these downloads on ?

 

You're looking for Google Drive, where you can store any file type. MS One Drive as an option too.

 

You should be able to download on your new computer, if you're planning on getting one. Also, is the "something" a USB stick, external hardrive or CD/DVD or something else?

Saving Craft Patterns from Etsy: To save your craft patterns from Etsy, you should:

1. Sign in to Etsy.com using your web browser.
2. Go to ‘Your Account’.
3. Navigate to ‘Purchases and Reviews’.
4. Find your order and select ‘Download Files’.1

This will download the files to your computer, and from there, you can transfer them to any storage device or service.

there is also DropBox as a storage service.
