Hello, I need to inquire about some help with setting up my computer with some WinXp restrictions.
The deal is, that I just spent alittle over a $1500 on a new computer for videogames and personal use. The problem is that I want to setup restrictions to other accounts on the system. My family wants to play games, and I only want them to do that. How to I block run,IE,installing programs ect. From this one account?

If you have an administrative account, you can double click administrative tools in control panel. In there is the local security policy. You can add/modify these settings to secure your XP machine. There is also a utility called poledit.exe on the (IIRC) XP CD, which can be used to define MORE policies.

Use caution though, make your changes INCREMENTALLY. (ie, one at a time, trying each out) so that if something is to go wrong, you know exactly what it is. There are so many policies with so much power you can easily get yourself into trouble.

    Great screen name, btw
