I tried out Total AdBlock from TotalAV but it didn’t block many (if any) ads, so I terminated the subscription and uninstalled the app in IObit Uninstaller (full uninstall).

Now I’m getting plenty of ads, and they’re almost all from Total AdBlock. IObit Uninstaller doesn’t see the app.

How do I end this obnoxious predicament?

When the notification pops up there should be a little menu you can click on to disable notifications.

Or open the settings menu and go to Notifications and Actions or Notifications and disable them.

You might also run Malwarebytes AdwCleaner to make sure it isn't actual adware and not just a setting.

Check your hosts file and DNS settings... You can get a free blocklist for ADs and just add them to your Host file. If you have some hardware around, you can set up a PiHole.

AdwCleaner checks all of those things and many more by default. If it finds something suspicious you can run the repair.
