    Hi all,
If you want to know how to take apart Toshiba laptops, I can help you. I work as a laptop repair technician and on my free time I create Toshiba laptop disassembly guides. My guides are free and you can use them if you want to repair your Toshiba lappy.

Those are good guides, a while back I was trying to figure out how to open my sattelite pro m10 and couldn't figure it out at all. I couldn't even find anything online about it. Eventually I did manage to get it all the way open (screen and the rest of it seperated), but I can't remember how I did it.

    What about clones?

Do you have any guides for Twinhead laptops?

Nope, I work mostly on Toshiba laptops (95%), sometimes HPs and IBMs.

    CJ2600,

If you still view this thread, I have a Sat A60-s166 (P4 2.8 w/ 15"). I may need to replace the hinges. The screen stays in place ok, but there is some play (wobbles) so I'm not sure if it's a broken hinge as I haven't gotten around to taking it apart yet. Is there a mechanism whereby I can tighten it down?

If I will need a hinge, I am thinking of a used hinge as I heard new ones are really pricey. Are there other models that I can be on the look out for to scavenge the hinges from that you know of, or do I need to look specifically for another A60?

    Thanks

You can remove the keyboard securing strip and see if the hinges are broken. Follow steps 5-7 here. Try to tighten 4 screws securing hinges, it might fix the problem. If you need to replace hinges, you have to look for A60/A65 model.
BTW, I plan to create a LCD removal guide for Toshiba Satellite A60/A65 models. I already got pictures.

    Good stuff!

It'd be nice if you gave the Dell manuals "the treatment" though :D
