Welcome to Majorgeeks, hopefully, you'll get your answer from one of us, to your satisfaction!

Anyway, if you uninstalled some BS apps, then they didn't do there job.

On, the other hand, try running an app called: PC decrapifier:

I could not agree more. As a matter of fact, you might want to get back with them and let them know there were BS apps left on the computer after they promised to remove all of them. You might be entitled to a partial refund. ;)

    Meh!

I would have serious doubts from the start, that your definition of "bs software" would be the same as geeks squad.

What???:confused Ask them to explain that one please. If there is such a thing then it's useless IMO, Win7 does a fine job on its own. At this point of BS I would charge them for being lying bastards. Too bad you didn't come here first.:(

Agree with all above, respectively tell them you are are confused with their apparent product and the anticipated outcomes. Clearly define you found BS software still present. Politely inform them you know the number of the BBB and want a "Clearly defined" receipt of what was undertaken.

Well, typically, BS apps, are those installed by any OEM. Just bare bones, baby!

Welcome to MajorGeeks Abstoney! Please ask them about the 'making the processors equal' part. I would be interested to know what they claim to have done.

Not sure about the processor running equally because that is pretty much impossible, but you can enable the 2nd processor to run during boot-up in msconfig but once windows is done loading it will multi-task as seen fit, not just equally...not many people know that windows only sees 1core/processor during the boot-up but im sure somebody on here has seen that before "or I would hope anyway"...you can view what the different cores are doing in the task manager under the performance tab for future reference, since it appears no-one but me answered the question you asked. You wont know exactly what they did unless you get your hands on the actual GeekSquad software which im pretty sure they wont let you have...

    hope that answers your question...

Yes, they did their job. They got 60 bucks out of you. File a complaint with your state Attorney General, because the services they offered are nothing more than FUD. The OS will make sure that the processors will run "equal", when it needs more horsepower.

It should be full refund, return the machine also, and call the credit card company to dispute the charges. Then get the machine through Toshiba for a lesser cost, and without BB touching it.

That's a bit of an over-reaction, if nothing else because once you do a charge-back, you can never use that credit card with Best Buy again. Charge-backs are expensive for businesses, so it's pretty much routine to block a card as soon as the owner does a charge-back.

Get a refund if they didn't do what they said they would, but there's no reason to create more hassle for yourself than you have to.

Who cares if they will let you use the card again, your business at that point is done with them, and you go elsewhere for your purchases, or pay cash if you really need something then and there at BB. It is one of the last places I shop for anything, because of their business practices. They are worst than politicians, and rate right up there with everything else that is at the bottom of the ocean below Whale dung.

Yikes... a little over-sensitive about the Geek squad, are we? You know, not everyone takes being cheated out of their money as personally as you do. ;)

Over sensitive, not. GS is worst than a used car salesman. I used to be a MS rep, and cannot count the number of times that we had to correct them, because of their practices of lying to the customer, and overselling stuff that the customer did not need, nor want. Even the regular BB reps are ill informed in the technology that they are selling.

    1. Being a Microsoft customer service rep will not endear you to a lot of people. ;)

    2. It's $60. Take the refund and move on.

The OP is specifically asking about how to tell if GS did the job they said they did.

Please stick to the topic at hand rather than the merits or lack there of of Geek Squad.
