Hi , Please can someone help me! I have been burning video clips with no problem for a while now but for some reason the ones i have burnt to cd lately are very shakey & the sound is terrible!! Once they are transferred baclk to computer they are fine but I have been always able to just put my cd in and watch them with no problems!! Even the cds i burnt awhie ago ( which were fine) are now shakey & voice draggy!! These clips are from a video camera. Is the problem my computer(everything else is fine) and like i said once i transfer them back to comp they are fine? thaqnks

  2. It's probably because the data transfer rate of the CD drive is lower than for a hard drive.

Thanks for the quick reply!!! I am a lttle new so what does that mean . Are my videos ok being stored on the cd or is there something elsa i can do. I used to be able to just put the cd in ,and click each video right from the cd and watch them but now i have to transfer them from the cd onto my computer to watch them which is a pain in the butt. The only thing different is i have newer canon a610 with a highspeed sd card? But having said all that my cd's of video clips say from a year ago that i could watch fine from cd on my computer are now shakey ect. Thanks for all your help! also should i be using a dvd or is a cd fine which is what i always used to use!! thanks

But island girl said they used to be good from CD - could it be lack of memory? More memory being used than used to be for some reason? Any new programs installed since the problem emerged?

    Hi Chookers,
I do have a few new things on the computer plus a bunch of video clips that i am usually good at burning to cd & taking off the computer each month but have been lazey! Do you think that the video clips are fine on the cd but it is actually my computer memory that is the problem...if this is the case i will burn the clips & delete them out of my documents completely!! I wonder if you are right because video clips in the cds from a year ago say are now shakey too!! If it is the memory though wouldn't they be shakey once they are transfered back onto the computer from the cd (they work fine) I am so confused ? Thanks for all your help!

Maybe the CD drive needs a lens cleaning or perhaps the CD drive speed is a little bit off ... I think Nero has a free drive speed info tool for download somewhere here at Major Geeks. Run down to Radio Shack or where-ever and get yourself a lens cleaner.... should be under $10 or $12..... Good Luck!

I have found the same symptoms if I play the CD's often and I have used a cheap CD. When I know that I will be playing a particular CD a lot, then I will bite the bullet and use a good Memorex or Sony CD.

    Cheers!
