Thanks musksnipe. :major I know that I was slack in browsing through the various categories which was why I thought others might be interested. I will continue on tomorrow as today I must take #2 sons laptop back (this will be the 3rd laptop, until we finally get the one the salesman showed us) and delete all the crap of them, again. Bazza

The one in the spotlight for today is Reviews at http://www.majorgeeks.com/review.php

I bet most members have never visited this page, much less submitted a review.

Most of the reviews there have been posted by Tim (MA) ages ago. It really needs some current reviews of programs that you have downloaded from Major Geeks and that you use on a regular basis. Here is your opportunity to test your writing, and review, skills. Bazza

    About Us

Majorgeeks.com is founded on a few simple premises:
That G-E-E-K should be more than just a four-letter word, but a way of life.
That the proper use of a pocket protector is not only handy, but one snazzy fashion statement.
That having computers as a hobby does not necessarily rule out chicks.
That access to a collection of Geekware*, is a right not a privilege.

I think you might be posting against the wrong thread. :D If you mean the giveaway of the day thread, I just have a quick look in case I spot anything of interest to me, or maybe of interest to MG'ers. Tim and Jim are not going to list a program that virtually has a life of one day.

Like you, most times MG is my first stop for software. Bazza

A great cause. I don't participate because I switch off and unplug my laptop as soon as I am finished on the Net. I have never liked leaving my PC on 24/7. Too many years in the tropics and stormy weather.

For those that leave thier PC on 24/7, or half the day, or whatever, then this is for a great cause.

    Awesome utility here:
    http://majorgeeks.com/JavaRa_d5967.html

It can search for Jave, remove old versions and update itself. Be sure to check additional options to remove Sun Download manager, startup entry and more. Since old Java versions can have security holes, this is a must have utility you should consider running alongside a disk defrag or cleanup for example.

Thanks MA, for the sticky. I looked right through the original post (yesterday, as it happened, from #1 onwards) and I thought how it was at the start, and improved (IMO) as I added some choices.

    Great utility, MA.
It is a pity that MS don't out out an all encompassing .NET program so we can get rid of all the earlier versions, too.

Maybe v3.5 is the one? Anyone know?

MA, the comments/reviews are great, IMO. See my post here, #88.
I really don't know how you manage to fit it all in. :)

I plugged the first one in the daily thread, at the time, to hope to get more people to read MG stuff.
Sunday, your time, is probably the best for me, as it usually has slightly less programs/updates posted ;)
That is why I also usually post the TOP MG DOWNLOADS on Sundays.

Friday/Saturday your time is Saturday/Sunday OZ time, when I usually process my selections. So I can list them from Saturday's post. :)

or Saturday/Sunday is Sunday/Monday our time.
I can still plug Sunday (your time) on Monday (our time) when I list your contributions for Sunday. :-D

    Hope that makes sense. ;)
