Hows your faith in humanity?

Mine was briefly restored yesterday.
I sitting in my car at a set of traffic lights.
It was absolutely pouring down with rain, and this ealdery man came walking along the side of the road dripping wet and carrying shopping.
A guy in a car in front of me jumped out, got a big golf umbrella out of his car. ran over and gave it to this ealdery man. just a random act of kindness.

just thought i would share

 

Random acts of kindness like that give me hope, too. Unfortunately, when I watch the news I lose all hope again and assume we're doomed. rolleyes

Thats great wildwolf,mines pretty low ATM some guys "Or girls?" stole four large plant pots and plants from my dads garden,has he gotta chain the plants down now?

The old man buys too many damn plants anyway its like an obsession he doesn't have enough time to look after all the plants he has,he's probably happy he can buy four more plants to fill the space:-D

If its a good clip on YT I'll put it in interesting links:-D I don't know how they moved them without a van or something they were massive 10 gallon pots.

 

Jeez Rik, those guys had to be desperate to nick something that big!:eek Maybe it was a nursery delivery truck? Man, at the cost of petrol, how can this even be profitable? Black market in plant pots?:confused What's this world coming too?

 

what you don't know about this story was that a huge gust of wind came sweeping through and picked the man up and carried him away much to the amusement of the kind stranger...lawl

I work in computer tech support. My faith in humanity tries to prevail, but it is bludgeoned repeatedly every day...

 

I'm going to have to disagree with that. My parents where right, and I am special and unique. But so is everyone else.

The best I can do is to be myself, and be true to myself, and as long as I can look myself in the mirror every morning, and face my husband without shame, that's all I can do. And hopefully, the way I treat the rest of the world and the people around me, will make it possible for me to look at myself in the mirror with forgiveness and acceptance, and for my husband to look at me with love and pride. If I can live well enough for that to happen, that is all I can hope for, and all I ever have a right to brag about.

And with luck and the grace of any god who may pay attention to me, I will not do extremely stupid things while I try to do good things. :-D

A very clever and wise man (no, they're not the same) once said that the best company a person can ask for is a good friend who will disagree with you, because he will force you to think. He will challenge your preconceived notions and ideas, and that is what makes for the best possible conversations. (And now you know one of the reasons I married him.)

After the realization of being wrong comes (hopefully) insight and learning, and learning is one of the most important reasons we are here and have the ability to think. Intellect is useless if it isn't challenged, and one of the most vital reasons for seeking out other human beings is to find such a challenge, meet it, and also present it. Why else did we learn to think?
