HP Deskjet 6122

I get an error while installing this printer on my PC. The PC is a 2.4 P4, 256mb pc2100 ram, 20 gig hdd, win xp home sp2.

It gets to the point where it detects the printer during the installation. Then it displays an error. The error is basically saying that it cannot see my printer. It says make sure my printer is plugged in and power is on, which I have done.

 

Might try using a different cable.

 

is the data cable connected properly? can it use USB or Parallel ?

 

It's USB or IEEE 1284 B.

I think 1284 B replaced parralel ports but is backwards compatible with parallel?

 

Nvm I realised my own mistake. 1284B is just a "Centronics" connector. I am thinking about buying a 36 pin centronics parallel connector, since my printer supports that too.
