HP dv7 1132nr wont boot

blinking code tells me it's that I have a graphics controller failure. Happened 3 days after warranty ran out...grr
I just finished doing a graphics update and it was rebooting, then I got the black screen.
I did a reseat of the memory, re-installed hard drive(thought it might have come loose)
I removed 1 of the RAM mods and it worked for about a month, now I get nothing. Tried new RAM sticks and nothing.......
Anyone have any ideas what else to do?
I'm not afraid to take it apart and try to fix it, I just need a little help as to what direction to go....

We need detailed system specs and more infor on how far into the boot you can get and what you can see on the screen.

 

running Vista, I hear the fans kick in, and hard drive run for about 5 sec then thats it. I never get anything on my screen. Console lights up properly. MY caps and num-loc blink 4 times. HP says its a graphics controller failure. What I dont get is how it worked when I took 1 stick of ram out, I'm actually thinking it's the ram slots...

 

Yes, I saw a lot of posts about that line of laptops. It must be something with the pressure on the board itself. Different people have different results from replacing motherboard to changing CPU to running with one RAM module in bottom slot.

guess i'll just tape a target to it and use it to sight-in my glock:-D
